We recently purchased this 1994 Toyota Pickup in El Sobrante, California. The truck had 155k original miles however it was running very poorly and was in need of an engine rebuild. The 22RE when well maintained, which doesn’t take much but regular oil changes, will run well over 300k miles.
The customer opted not to rebuild or replace the 4 cylinder engine due to the age of the truck. It could be said that the only downside to owning one of these trucks today is the lack of safety and comfort features compared to a Tacoma even from the year 2001 to 2010. We were able to purchase it with expired registration and a lost title from the customer and offer free towing for them.
